Te Pūaha kete – what’s new and what’s popular

Te Pūaha o te Ako is regularly updated with the latest reports and resources produced by the Centre for Social Impact and across the wider philanthropic and not-for-profit sector. Some of our latest resources include:

Online webinars:

Te Pūaha Talks is a programme of free online capability building webinars funded by Foundation North.

Ngahere for Teams – skills and practices for restorative systems change work is one of our latest offerings. This series of four online workshops is designed to support teams to build skills and practices for restorative systems change work. Ngahere for Teams builds on our earlier Ngahere personal wellbeing workshops which offered tools to help people explore how to embed wellbeing practices in their lives, and the systems in which they live and work.

Your Sphere of Influence
climate action webinar was our contribution to the Auckland Climate Festival. Climate change anxiety is something many of us now experience, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless. Each The workshop was designed to give us some pathways to move from anxiety to action as individuals, in our organisations, and in our communities.

Other Te Pūaha Talks and capability building resources, including webinars on communications, evaluation, hauora, and social media, are available here.

Insights:

Our insights papers provide a brief overview of the reports on research and analysis we undertake with our clients and partners. Our latest insights paper introduces our second report on the philanthropic landscape, Shifting Culture and Power through Mana-Enhancing Partnerships. The insights paper looks at the key themes that emerged in the report that characterise how funders across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia are working to build impactful, mana-enhancing funding partnerships.

The full report is available here, alongside videos of funders speaking to their practice. Volume 1 Trends and Practices in Contemporary Philanthropy is available here.

Effective funding practice:

Helping philanthropic funders to understand impact is another new resource in the Te Pūaha kete. Foundation North commissioned research from CSI into how it could strengthen its practices in understanding the impact of its funding and non-funding activities. To share the findings from this enquiry into impact with other philanthropic funders, the Foundation asked CSI to encapsulate the research finding into three short reports on understanding impact in philanthropy. The reports address: Te Tiriti o Waitangi considerations; Foundations – core elements in understanding impact; and Leading practice - a think piece on latest trends in understanding impact. The reports are available here.

Some of our most popular research, reports, tools and resources include:

Haumanu - restorative systems change is an emerging approach, developed by a group of CSI associates, to restorative systems change which draws on mātauranga Māori and new developments in science around healing trauma
