CSI works with a wide range of community partners, including funders and grant-makers, to identify opportunities to better respond to community aspirations, and develop and review long-term strategic objectives.
In 2017, Foundation North commissioned CSI to carry out a significant body of research to inform the implementation of a revised 15-year Strategic Plan for the organisation.
Understanding the Landscape of Auckland & Northland was the cornerstone of this work, published in July 2018, along with other insights reports on investing for impact in its priority areas of Northland and South Auckland.
In 2023, CSI carried out a comprehensive periodic review of Foundation North’s 15-year strategy. This included an updated regional demographic profile, data and insights analysis, an evidence review of global, national and regional trends and issues, and community insights gathered via eight community wānanga and ten interviews.
As well as using findings and insights from the review to inform and update its existing strategy, Foundation North commissioned CSI to share this new knowledge more widely for the benefit of other community and philanthropic stakeholders.
The following reports will be of interest to community and voluntary organisations active in Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau, local and regional government in these areas, as well as to other funders investing, or considering investment, into this region.
