Across Aotearoa New Zealand, thousands of governance boards support a diverse range of community programmes – whether that be sport, kapa haka, food banks, the elderly, education or one of many other important areas.  To support these boards, the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) and the Community Governance Steering Group have developed the National Action Plan for Community Governance.  The Action Plan presents a range of practical solutions to the pressures and opportunities that present themselves from a governance point of view across the community sector.

We are now seeking an exceptional leader and project manager to support the implementation of the Plan, on a 12 month fixed term contract. 

About the role

You will lead the implementation of the actions identified in the National Action Plan, either directly or working with other organisations.  This will include detailed design, planning, development and roll-out of the actions.  The implementation will be co-designed with community board members and in collaboration with key stakeholders including Māori, Pasifika and other ethnic groups, community groups, as well as funding organisations.  You will ensure regular high quality reporting to these stakeholders and the steering group, and will be responsible for budgeting and resource management.

About the person

As the successful candidate you will bring a commitment to and experience in the community sector, ideally at a governance level.  You will be a skilled project manager with programme design and delivery experience.

Your track record will include extensive facilitation, co-design, and engagement experience with diverse communities, groups and organisations.  You will be a skilled influencer, comfortable working with community leaders, funders and stakeholders at all levels.  You will have an understanding of Te Ao Māori as well as experience working with a range of diverse communities.

You will be an energetic leader, an impressive and articulate communicator, and known for your can-do attitude and exceptional organisation skills.

While CSI is Auckland based, there is flexibility for this role to be based anywhere in Aotearoa, visiting Auckland for quarterly planning sessions.
