A grant of $2,079,503 from Foundation North through its Catalysts for Change funding programme last year provided the financial boost needed to transform a historic building in Cafler Park provided by the Whangarei Council to provide the facilities needed.
The Centre for Social Impact team has been working with the Whangarei Youth Space team over the last six months. Capacity building and leadership development have been the focus of our support. Assistance with the identification and development of board members has also been a priority. The board has fifty percent youth directors which provides a unique perspective.
We’re really excited for the team and we look forward to working with them as Whangarei Youth Space develops over the next five years.
