MJ is an organization transformation consultant, social entrepreneur, academic, mentor, and writer. Her work weaves across sectors and industries to enable groups and networks to align purpose and operationalize impact.
MJ is a Partner with The Ready, a boutique consultancy that enables diverse enterprises to become adaptive and fit-for-purpose amidst complexity, globalism, and rampant change. She is a Co-creator and Board Member at Loomio, a New Zealand based global social enterprise that enables digital collaborative decision-making. MJ is an Associate at Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University and a periodic lecturer at Brown University. MJ founded and Kaplan Consulting from 2000 through 2012. MJ serves on two local boards, Commerce RI, and Social Enterprise Greenhouse.
MJ was Ian Axford Fulbright Fellow in New Zealand In 2013 and she speaks and writes frequently about social enterprise and social impact. She was awarded the Cordes Innovation Fellowship by Asoka U and honored as The Outstanding Mentor for RI Business Women Awards. MJ earned her M.Ed. from Harvard University and B.A. Brown University.
