Managing the Centre's response to COVID-19
COVID-19 is reshaping the way we will work for the foreseeable future.
As a part of the Foundation North family, we are following the same precautionary approach to the way we work as the Foundation (https://www.foundationnorth.org.nz/news-reports/2020/3/novel-coronaviruscovid-19-health-safety-notice/) Alongside our Foundation North colleagues, we are following Ministry of Health guidelines to protect our team our network, and our partners and clients.
The immediate impacts on our work relate to our two governance projects.
National Strategy for Community Governance
We have postponed the second sprint workshop on the development of the National Strategy for Community Governance. This was to have been held in Wellington March 19th and 20th.
We now plan to reconvene to do this sprint, which is focused on support and development opportunities for NGO chairs, on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20th May. For those in the sprint team, this sprint will be held either at the IoD's Wellington offices or fully on-line (or some combination of the two). Whatever the mechanism, the sprint will take place.
Community Trusts Governance Training Programme
Our governance programme for community trust trustees, including the Advanced programme scheduled for 5 May, will be delivered through a combination of online and electronic communication channels.
