Kathrine Clarke (Ngāpuhi) is the latest associate to join our team. Kathrine has more than twenty-five years’ experience as a senior manager, general manager and CEO in the health sector across central government, NGOs and Māori health providers. Her significant contribution was recognised last year when she was announced as the Māori Public Health Tū Rangatira mō te Ora Award winner for 2017. 


Around half a billion dollars will be invested in Auckland and Northland communities by Foundation North over the next fifteen years.  A new strategic plan has been created by the Foundation to ensure that this investment will enhance the lives of everyone in the region.

He Korowai Trust, under the leadership of Ricky Houghton (Ngāti Kahu and Ngāti Whātua), has a record of inspiring social innovation. Our associate, Dain Guttenbeil, is leading the Centre for Social Impact’s work with the Trust as it establishes its latest initiative in Kaitaia, the Sweet As Maori Trade Training Academy.


Congratulations to our associate Caren Rangi who won the Linden Estate Leader of the Year award at the 2017 PAN PAC Hawke's Bay Business Awards.

'Kōtuitui - interweaving conversations' is the idea of Foundation North and its social business, the Centre for Social Impact. The short, after-work events, focused around a theme, will provide a platform for attendees to meet and learn from thought-leaders in the sector, such as the speaker at the inaugural Kōtuitui on social enterprise (21 Sept), Mary Jo 'MJ' Kaplan.

Since 2006, Foundation North have been investing in journeys of change. We’ve worked with them to produce an overview of the development of their venture philanthropy.
