TYMS is a Pasifika-led organisation working with young Pasifika and Maori primarily aged 6-18 years, who are in the justice or social services system, and/or are disengaging from education.

TYMS delivers a holistic mentoring and tutoring service that assists young people to build their resilience and self-awareness, while improving their cognitive skills, with the goal of re-engaging with education, or finding meaningful training or employment.  They want Pasifika and Maori youth to have a sense of belonging and pride in their communities, and achieve their full potential.

The TYMS mentors are key to the success of the organisation and a range of tools are being developed to refine their mentoring practise and improve outcomes.  CSI have assisted TYMS to build their financial capability and financial management system, facilitate strategy development, and provide access to expertise across a range of disciplines to strengthen operational and workforce development.  As a result, Board and staff responsibilities have been clarified, and organisational strengthening is continuing.

Tuilaepa Youth Mentoring Service is a Foundation North Catalyst for Change community partner.
