Bay of Plenty Community Trust (BayTrust) serves a region that extends from Katikati to Turangi to Te Kaha and includes Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane and Taupo. The purpose of the Trust is to provide charitable, cultural, philanthropic, recreational and other benefits to Bay of Plenty communities.

Eastern and Central Community Trust gives grants and support to community organisations operating in the Gisborne Tairawhiti, Hawke’s Bay, Tararua, Manawatu, Horowhenua and Wairarapa districts. The Trust distributes approximately $5million in donations every year to a range of community organisations.

Foundation North, the community trust of Auckland and Northland, is New Zealand’s largest philanthropic grantmaker. Founded in 1988 from the sale of the community’s shares in the Auckland Savings Bank, the Foundation has an endowment of over $1 billion, and grants up to $40 million to Auckland and Northland community organisations, initiatives and facilities each year. The Centre for Social Impact was founded by Foundation North in 2013 to help organise and deliver social programmes for optimum social impact.

Otago Community Trust provides grants to assist community projects that make a significant and positive contribution to Otago communities. The Trust distributes approximately $6 million per annum in grants to the region’s communities.

Perpetual Guardian is a trustee company that was formed from a merger of Perpetual Trust and Guardian Trust. Perpetual Guardian provide a range of estate planning options for New Zealanders, and administer over 550 endowment and charitable trusts, many of which are actively distributing funds to support charitable causes in New Zealand. Across these trusts approximately $30 million is distribution per annum in grants and scholarships. In 2015, Perpetual Guardian launched the Perpetual Guardian Foundation as a vehicle for individuals to engage in philanthropy in a more accessible way. The Foundation includes a General Fund managed by an Advisory Board, as well as a number of issue or cause specific sub-funds, which can be established by individuals as a vehicle for their philanthropy.

Philanthropy New Zealand - Topūtanga Tuku Aroha o Aotearoa is the peak body representing and supporting philanthropists and grantmakers in New Zealand.
The Centre for Social Impact’s association with Philanthropy New Zealand connects the Centre to the wider philanthropic sector and its needs.

Trust Waikato serves serving Thames–Coromandel, Hauraki, Matamata–Piako, Waipa, Waikato, South Waikato, Waitomo, Otorohanga and Ruapehu districts, as well as Hamilton city. The Trust distributes over $11million per annum in donations to community groups and projects in the Waikato region.

The Vodafone Foundation was established in Aotearoa in 2002. Since then, it has partnered with Vodafone to invest more than $43 million, supporting more than 1,000 community organisations. The foundation draws on the resources and skills of the Vodafone New Zealand team to blend digital investment, corporate partnerships, operational and communications support, advocacy, and mentoring with philanthropic funding to build fast-paced, sustainable, and measurable change.
